Will the JW.Org Site make a difference ?

it will obviously make a difference to how jw's obtain their literatrash, they will have to download and print it all themselves before long.. it will make a small difference to the dtod work, they will now refer even genuine questions and interest etc to the site, not taking the opportunity to "witness" on the initial call at all.

this has been happening already to a degree.. the difference i am mainly interested in is the capture of new suckers in to the borg.. we will be able to see when we get 2014's figures, sometime next year, what the rate of increase was over the last ten years.. phizzy the prophet predicts that the rate of increase over the next ten years will not be significantly up.

probably down, but certainly, i feel, not so different from the last ten.. should i be around in ten years to do so, i will wish to ask jw's:.

I think the organization will eventually use JW.org as an excuse to stop printing the public edition of the Watchtower and Awake as a means of further cutting costs. They will say that more people are using JW.org so there's no longer a great need to print the magazines. They will probably start this policy in all countries that have good internet access. JWs will be going to the doors to offer tracts, bible studies and to invite people to the meetings.

Furthermore, I believe the org will put a donation feature on jw.org to allow the public to donate. Don't be surprized if they even start a feature where you can sign up to get special features - for a monthly or annual fee.

You know, it just occured to me that Herd's last statement in the video - that a loving wife who is smarter than her husband will "work extremely hard never to show that she's quicker in mind than her husband" - contradicts the conduct of Abigail the wife of Nabal. Abigail showed by her conduct that she is smarter than her husband. She even told David that her husband is foolish! She went behind her husband's back and provided provisions for David and his men and she defiantly told her husband about it. Herd doesn't know what he's talking about.

If there were no shunning ...

a lot of members of this forum are still notionally active jws, in many cases because of worries about the loss of contact with family and friends if they were to leave.

i was never in so it's hard for me to judge, but it seems to me that if the watchtower org were to announce tomorrow that shunning is wrong and jws should keep contact with family and friends who leave then the effect would be devasting for congregation numbers.

if so then obviously such an announcement is highly unlikely, but is my view correct?

I suspect there are 2 possible reasons for them choosing to build the K.H. so close to the house.

1. The JWs are hoping to frustrate the family in the hopes that they'll sell the house and JWs can get to buy it and use it as a missionary home.

2. The JWs, in their twisted thinking, believe that they're doing the family a favor by building the K.H close enough for the family to hear the meetings and maybe accept da troof as a result.

why Jehovah's witnesses? not yaweh witnesses?

this i never understood, the publications say that gods name translated from hebrew is yaweh.

why add a whole bunch of letters and vowels that change the sound of the name completely?

i've often thought surely we would gain greater respect on the ministry if we used a name that is historically and verbally accurate?.

I think it should be niether. It should be "The Lord's Witnesses" for 2 reasons:

1. It's YHWH's fault that he didn't act to preserve the pronunciation of his name. If his name ever was in the NT, it's his fault that he allowed copyists to tamper with it by allowing them to replace his name with "Lord". He permitted his name to be lost to history and replaced with "Lord". Therefore, "The Lord's Witnesses".

2. According to the NT christians are to be witnesses of Jesus. Jesus is lord, therefore christians are the lord's witnesses. In other words, the name "The Lord's Witnesses" covers both the role of being witnesses of YHWH and being witnesses of Jesus because both YHWH and Jesus are lords. (Maybe it should be "The Lords' Witnesses" with the apostraphy after the s)

the whole article makes me ill with its worse than average mind control.. i was going to only include one quote but there are so many doozies that i will post what i feel to be the worst.. from paragraph 6.

"gods organization survives and flourishes on earth because the people who are part of it have his approval.".

the great tribulation has been "so close" for over 120 years of wt history.
